BuildTak 3D Printing Build Surface, 6.5″ x 11.5″ Rectangle, Black (Pack of 3)

The Buildtak 3D-printing build surface is a 6.5″ x 11.5″ rectangular sheet that adheres to a print bed of a fused-filament 3D printer (sold separately) to help the filament stick during printing, while also enabling clean removal of the printed part afterward. The sheet is compatible with ABS, PLA, HIPS, PET+, brick, wood, and flexible (TPE) filaments (sold separately), and has a durable construction that allows for multiple uses with either the same or different filament material. The build surface can also be used with nylon and t-glase when a thin layer of washable glue stick (sold separately) is spread onto the surface. It installs more quickly and with fewer bubbles than tape or films.

Ideal Jacobs manufactures the Buildtak 3D-printing build surface and provides custom services such as rapid prototyping, laser-cutting, machining, and injection molding. The company, founded in 1921 and headquartered in Maplewood, NJ, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001:2008 and 14001:2004.

  1. … with my Flashforge creator pro which has a very nice solid flat aluminum heated bed Using this product with my Flashforge creator pro which has a very nice solid flat aluminum heated bed. I adjusted the bed height as instructed and tried printing ABS directly on the build surface. It stuck great…. too great. When removing the parts it pulled chunks of the build plate surface with the parts. I tried it with a raft, same results. I then tried it with a HIPS raft and the HIPS did not stick well enough to the plate, all of those parts were warped. I then tried a lower build…

  2. Good print surface. Will buy again This is a terrific print base! Our MakerBot Replicator 2 printer had the standard plastic base. Left bare, parts could adhere too well (needing to be scraped off the base, often destroying the part). Blue tape and other options took time, created mess, and were unreliable. This build surface was almost the exact size of our build plate, so it just needed a trim. From the first print it was magic – the extruded PLA stuck well (even without adding AquaNet hair spray), and the parts were very easy…
